- Do you travel? Yes
- What is your philosophy toward
design? In a word Freedom. That means for a home to
serve its occupants as a shelter, and spiritually. For a
business it means to serve others. And for institutions,
to empower those being served.
- How do you achieve this?
First by building responsibly. Sensible use of materials
with minimal energy consumption. That is to build Green.
To integrate the building into its natural setting. To
include art into the design using local artists when
appropriate. To exclude control features. To express
hospitality in the design.
- What would you call your
style? I do not have a style. I believe its
important to design to the local vernacular, or at least
not against it.
